How to Connect Two PCs Wirelessly

If you have a wireless router for your home network, you can use it to connect two computers wirelessly. A wireless network connection allows you to keep from having to run Ethernet cables or ports to every computer location in the house. Wireless network sharing also makes it easier for mobile devices to connect to your WiFi, including laptops and cellphones.

      Connect each computer to the wireless network by right-clicking the "Wireless Network Connection" icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Click "View Available Wireless Networks."

      Select the name of your home network, also known as the SSID of the network. Enter the network key or password if you have one set up. Click "Connect."

      Right-click the wireless icon again and choose "Network and Sharing Center." Click "Ready to Create" next to the HomeGroup listing. Click "Create a HomeGroup."

      Put a check next to any document and device type you want to share with the computer you are connecting to. Click "Next." Write down the HomeGroup password and click "Finish." Go to the other computer. Right-click the wireless network connection icon. Click "Network and Sharing Center." Click "Available to Join." Click "Join HomeGroup." Check the document and device types that this computer is going to share on the network. Click "Next," enter the password and press "Finish." The two computers can now access allowed files, folders and even devices.
