How to Backup Device Drivers

All of the device drivers that are installed on your computer get stored in the same directory on your hard drive. If you want to back up the device drivers on your machine, you just need to back up this single directory. The actual backup process can be completed using a tool that is native to the Microsoft Windows computer operating system called "Backup and Restore."

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the storage medium you want to use to backup your device drivers to your computer. If you're using a CD or DVD, insert a blank CD or DVD into your burner. If you're using a USB flash drive, a memory stick or an external hard drive, connect that device to your computer's case at this time.
