Cut the cloth for your jacket according the the shape of the pattern. Draw the pattern on the cloth with fabric chalk and cut the cloth using scissors. Most patterns consist of two pieces of cloth for sleeves, and two to four pieces of cloth for the body as well as one piece of cloth for the collar.

Turn your fabric inside-out and join the pieces of fabric together using a sewing machine. Follow the pattern when sewing. Run the two pieces of fabric through the machine and turn them right-side-out to check the stitching. Turn fabric inside-out again and sew another piece of fabric to the jacket.

4
Sew the zipper onto the front of the jacket.

5
Turn jacket right-side-out and add embellishments. Sew embroidery using a needle and thread, glue glitter or gems to the jacket or attach sequins and beads using a needle and thread.
