Instructions

    • 1

Apply a heat protectant to your hair. Heat protectants keep the heat from styling tools from damaging your hair.

    • 2

Use the medium heat setting on your curling iron. Using high heat can be damaging to Sisterlocks.

    • 3

Take several Sisterlocks and wrap them around a curling iron. Clamp the hair in the curling iron for 10 to 20 seconds before carefully releasing it. You can use a large curling iron to get loose waves on longer hair or a smaller iron for shorter hair or tighter curls on long hair.

    • 4

Continue curling until all of the Sisterlocks are curled.

    • 5

Spray the curled hair with hairspray to set the curls.

    • 6

Arrange the curled Sisterlocks as desired. The Sisterlocks website says that Sisterlocks can be styled in the same styles as relaxed hair.
