Windows Mail is an application included with the Windows Vista operating system. The previous version of this client was called Outlook Express. As of 2010, its most recent version is called Windows Live Mail. The benefits of Windows Mail include the ability to integrate the features of other web-mail services such as AOL, Yahoo!, and Gmail. Microsoft Outlook will accept exported messages into the client after a short migration process.

      Open Windows Mail.

      Click on the File menu, then Export.

      Click Messages.

      Click Microsoft Exchange in the Windows Mail Export Wizard, then click Next.

      Click OK at the message, "This will export messages from Windows Mail to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange."

      Select the email profile that contains the messages you are transferring. Click OK.

    • 7

      Open the File menu, click on Export, then Messages.

Tips & Warnings

  • The date stamp on your messages will change reflecting the date of the transfer.
