How to Repair an AVI & a WMV
An .avi file is a common video-file format, playable with most media-player applications. A .wmv file (Windows Media Video) is another common video-file format. There are many utility programs which can repair these files if they have been partially corrupted.

Use Video Fixer (free trial, see Resources section). This program can fix or repair partially damaged video files. It is compatible with many file formats, including .avi and .wmv.

Use All Video Fixer (free trial, see Resources section). This application can also repair many common video-file types, including .avi and .wmv. The program is only compatible with Windows operating systems through XP. The program supports batch recovery of files, fixing multiple videos at once.

Use ASF-AVI-RM-WMV Repair (free trial, see Resources section). This program imports partially corrupted video files and exports new, separate, clean files. It is compatible with many common video formats.
