Instructions

    • 1

Park a car or motorcycle with a working battery close to the dead motorcycle and turn the vehicle off.

    • 2

Locate the motorcycle battery, which is often under the seat. Remove the terminal covers from the batteries of both vehicles.

    • 3

Get the jumper cables and connect the red clamp to the positive terminal on the dead battery. Connect the black clamp to the negative terminal on the dead battery.

    • 4

Connect the black clamp to the negative terminal on the good battery. Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal on the good battery.

    • 5

Start the motorcycle with the dead battery.

    • 6

Disconnect the red cable from the good battery first, then from the battery which you jump started. Disconnect the black cable from both batteries.

    • 7

Drive your motorcycle for an extended period of time so the battery can charge, or drive the motorcycle home and charge it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always connect the cables to the dead battery first.

  • Make sure the car is off when jump starting the battery, because failure to do so can blow the motorcycle battery or start a fire.

  • When connecting the positive clamp to the motorcycle, make sure it does not come in contact with any other metal.

  • Do not turn off the motorcycle after jump starting it until you have ridden it for awhile or fully charged it.
