Domain names are essentially addresses with which you navigate the Internet. When you type an address into your web browser, it uses the domain name to link you to the information connected to that domain name. If you are managing a website through Yahoo!, you may want to change your domain name at some point. Changing your Yahoo! domain is easy and requires just a few simple steps.

      Login to Yahoo! and sign in to your business control panel. Go to Yahoo.com and enter your login ID and password. Then use your login information to sign in to your business control panel.

      Access the domain control panel. On the "Manage My Services" page of your business control panel, you will see an option to access your domain control panel. Click on the domain control panel that is linked to the domain you wish to edit.

      Edit your domain name. In the domain control panel, click on "Manage Advanced DNS Settings." On the Manage Advanced DNS Settings page, click on the "Change Name Servers" option. Then, either add additional names for your domain in the "Additional" fields or choose to replace your domain name with another name. Once you finish editing your domain, click the "Submit" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • After you edit your domain name, it may take 72 hours for the changes to take effect. Your website may also not function properly during this period.
