Homemade Spa Baths
Making a home spa bath can be done easily and fairly quickly with the right supplies. You can also create mixtures of bath salts that are as strong or mild as you want them to be, instead of relying on ready-made salts. Make sure to thoroughly clean your bathroom before getting into the tub because you will be able to better relax in a clean environment. Does this Spark an idea?

Make Your Own Bath Salts
-
1
Grind the herbs until they are almost a powder. Lavender is a relaxing herb while mint is an invigorating scent. They are both very easy to find in dried form or to grow at home.
-
2
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Do not grind them together, simply mix them up.
-
-
3
Pour 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the mixture into your bath as it is running.
Create a Spa Environment
-
4
Fill your tub with warm water; shut the door so the steam and heat stay inside the bathroom. The heat and steam will help you relax.
-
5
Pour the bath salts into your tub and let them dissolve. Make sure you don't put in too much, as the scent may overwhelm you.
-
6
Turn on some relaxing music right as you are about to get in the bathtub. Nature sounds or classical music are good choices for spa baths.
-
7
Dry off with a thick, warm towel. Part of the luxury of going to spas is the comfortable bathrobes and towels. If you have a bathrobe, wear that after you dry off.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not want loose salt and herbs in your bath, tie them in a small bag made of muslin or cheesecloth and hang it on the tap so the water goes through the bag as it runs.
