If you are decorating for Christmas, there are many things you can use, such as lights, yard ornaments, window decals and door wreaths. Snow may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of decorations. If you live in an area of the country that gets cold in the winter but doesn't typically record high volumes of snow, you could be in the perfect place to make a dusting of snow using nothing more than an air compressor, pressure washer and some water. Things You'll Need

  • 6-inch nipple
  • 1/4-inch cap
  • 1/4-inch T
  • 1/4-inch elbow 90 degrees
  • 1/4-inch mini ball valve
  • 1/4-inch close nipple
  • 2 inch nipple
  • 1/4 inch male to female bushing
  • 1/2 inch garden to female connector
  • Quick connector air fitting
  • Teflon tape
  • 7/64-inch drill bit

Instructions

    • 1

      Drill a hole in the center of the pipe cap.

      Attach the female end of the 1/4-inch bushing to the 2-inch nipple.

    • 3

      Connect the 1/4-inch mini ball valve to the other end of the 2-inch nipple.

      Connect the 1/4-inch close nipple to the ball valve.

      Attach the 1/4-inch elbow to the close nipple.

      Fit the 1/4-inch T to the end of the elbow. Connect the elbow to the center opening of the T.

      Connect the 6-inch nipple pipe to the T opening that is to the above the other parts. Attach the air fitting to the other end of the T.

      Attach the 1/4-inch cap to the end of the 6-inch nipple. This will complete the apparatus that is attached to your garden hose. Connect the 1/2-inch female end of the garden hose connector to the male end of the bushing. You can then screw the apparatus onto your garden hose.

      Connect the compressor hose to the air fitting.

      Close the valve on the snow maker and then make sure the compressor is on.

      Turn on your water spigot.

    • 12

      Open the valve to start the snow making. It will take a few minutes.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a good seal, it is good to put Teflon tape on the threads of the plumbing parts to make them fit tight.
