Repair the windshield wipers on your vehicle by replacing the wiper blades when needed.

The 2000 Ford Mustang is equipped with windshield wipers that clear the glass when needed. The windshield wipers use rubber wiper blades, which squeegee the glass clean when used. Overtime the windshield wipers become deteriorated and broken and as this happens, the wipers will fail to clean the windshield glass. It's important to repair the windshield wipers by replacing the blades immediately to ensure proper visibility at all times.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the 2000 Mustang in "Park" and remove the key from the ignition. This will ensure the vehicle does not move while performing maintenance on the wipers.

    • 2

Pull the windshield wiper arm away from the windshield. As you pull the wiper arm to a perpendicular position, it will lock into place.

    • 3

Turn the wiper blade to an angle so it's positioned away from the wiper arm. The wiper arm and wiper blade should resemble a "T" at this point.

    • 4

Push the locking pin in to release the blade from the wiper arm. The pin is located where the blade and arm meet. Remove the wiper blade by pulling the blade down toward the windshield. Discard the old blade.

    • 5

Align the new wiper blade with the wiper arm and press it into place. You will hear a click signaling the wiper is locked into place and the locking pin is engaged. Repeat these steps for the opposite wiper blade. Once finished, lower the wiper arm slowly to the windshield.
