How do I Replace a Lamp in a Panasonic PT-AE900U?

The Panasonic PT-AE900U is a 720p home theater projector first released in 2005. Given the age of the projector, it's quite likely that, if you own one, the lamp is close to burning out. Like all projectors, the PT-AE900U uses a lamp to illuminate the image and display it on a screen. After a few thousand hours of use the lamp will burn out and need to be replaced.       Power down your projector. Turn the main power switch on the back of the projector to the off position. Disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet. Disconnect any other cables you may have attached to the projector. Allow the projector to cool for at least an hour. Turn the projector over so the bottom panel is facing up.

      Remove the lamp cover in the back corner of the projector, diagonal from the lens. Loosen the two screws holding the cover in place and lift the cover off the projector.

      Loosen the retaining screws on the lamp. Grab the handle of the lamp and slide it out of the projector.

      Slide the new lamp into the slot and press on the sides of the lamp to make sure it is all the way in. Replace the lamp cover. Plug your projector back into the electrical outlet and flip the main power switch on.

      Press the "Power" button to power on your projector. Press the "Menu" button on your remote. Scroll down and select "Option" from the menu screen. From the "Option" menu scroll down to "Lamp Runtime." Press and hold the "Enter" button on your remote for three seconds. Power off your projector. This will reset the lamp runtime counter for your new lamp.
