How to Remove Paint on Plexiglass

Megan Richardson

Plexiglass is a type of thermoplastic that looks like glass, but is lighter and less sensitive. If paint accidentally stains your plexiglass, the plexiglass must be cleaned in a special way, as plexiglass can scratch easily. This makes non-abrasive cleaning methods absolutely necessary.

  1. Pour a small amount of kerosene onto a rag.

  2. Rub the rag onto the paint stain until it comes off.

  3. Mix 1 teaspoon of gentle soap with 1 cup of warm water in a bowl.

  4. Dip a sponge into the soapy water. Squeeze out the excess moisture.

  5. Rub the sponge onto the plexiglass to clean off the kerosene.

  6. Rinse the area with water, and dry it with a paper towel.
