Poser 7 Tutorial
Poser 7 is a 3-D graphics and animation application offered by Smith Micro. While not the most recent version of the program, it is still used by many amateurs and professionals alike to produce rendered images and animation for a wide array of projects, from print advertising to web-page animated GIFs. Poser comes with a collection of figures you can pose and props that you can add to scenes for rendering. In that regard, it is often necessary to add new items to Poser to create the scene you have in mind. Expanding your library in this way is quite simple.

1
Decide on the kind of scene that you want to create and make a list of the props, figures and clothing items that you will need to create the scene. Then go online to sites like Daz 3D or Renderosity and either purchase or download from the free area the items you don't already have in Poser.
-
2
Click the installer for each item you purchased and use the dialog prompts to install it to the Poser 7 application. Non-Poser formats like Wavefront OBJ and 3DS will have to be imported separately.

-
3
Open Poser 7. Select the "Default" figure you see in the scene and delete it. Then click the tab on the right to open the "Library" palette.
-
4
Browse to the figures that you loaded and drag them into the scene. Then drag in any props you installed to Poser.
-
5
Select "File" from the menu and choose "Import." from the options, choose the file type you want to import. Browse to and open one of the non-Poser files you downloaded (if any). Repeat this to bring in any other files you want to use.

6
Select each prop in turn and use the "Parameter Dials" palette to scale and position it. Then select the figures and use the dials to pose them in the scene. Save your work.
