How to Make International Calls With a Charter Phone

International calls using a Charter phone can be made in two different ways.

Charter is the fourth-largest cable provider company in the United States. In addition to cable television, Charter provides telephone services and high-speed Internet. Charter phones are available with numerous options, such as voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting and special rates for international calls. You can make international calls using a Charter phone by either using the international rate-per-minute service or subscribing to Charter's Worldwide 250 plan, which limits the minutes of your international calls to 250 minutes.

Rate-Per-Minute International Calls

  Call directly from your Charter phone without a monthly plan. Charter does not list any monthly bills for this form of international calling. You will be charged per minute for your calls according to Charter's rate per minute for international calling. Refer to Charter's rate-per-minute table to look up a country code and determine the rate for calling.

  Pick up your Charter phone and dial "011." Make sure to dial the numbers in the correct order.

  Dial the country code of the country you are calling. See the Resources for a list of country codes.

  Dial the city code within the country you are calling after the country code.

  Dial the local phone number of the person you are calling after the city code. You will be connected to your call, unless the person on the other line is busy, unavailable or their service is disconnected.
Worldwide 250 Plan

  Make an international call using Charter's Worldwide 250 plan. You must already be subscribed to this plan before you make a call. You can only talk for up to 250 minutes on this plan. Charter resets the 250 minutes at the beginning of each month.

  Dial "*250" on your Charter phone. You will hear a greeting.

  Enter the country code and the local phone number of the person after being prompted to do so by the voice instructions.

  Dial "*250" to hear your balance and the number of minutes remaining.

  Make international calls by dialing "011" if you have already exhausted your minutes before the beginning of the next month and need to make an international call.
