Step-by-Step on How Do You Draw a Race Car
Learning how to draw a race car can be done in a few minutes using simple shapes. All it takes is a triangle, two circles, a half circle, a "T" shape and a few straight lines. The necessary tools are available in most homes. Young children who like racing and race cars should enjoy this activity.

Draw a Race Car
-
1
Draw two circles about 4 inches apart and 2 inches from the bottom of a sheet of paper. Make the circle on the left a half-inch in diameter and the other 1 inch in diameter. The smaller circle is the front wheel and the larger one is the rear wheel.
-
2
Draw a smaller circle inside each circle to represent the hubcaps.
-
-
3
Draw a straight line connecting the two circles. Extend the line about 1 inch beyond the front wheel and 1/4 inch beyond the rear wheel. The line represents the base of the car.
-
4
Draw a line perpendicular to the line that connects the two wheels. Start it at the back of the car and extend it an inch above the base.
-
5
Connect the top of the line you created in Step 4 with the front of the base of the car. You should have a right triangle. This is the body of the race car.
-
6
Measure 1 1/2 inches from the front of the car. Draw a half circle that is about 1 inch in diameter on top of the body of the race car. This is where the driver sits. It is called the pod.
-
7
Draw a "T" shape that extends upward from the back of the race car. This is the rear wing of the car, known as the spoiler, which helps give race cars stability at high speeds. Make the wing about 1/3 inch tall and 1/3 inch wide.
-

Add any details that you like. Write a number on the side of the car. Decorate the car with flames, flowers, stars or stripes.
