How to Make a Graduation Card Box
Graduating high school or college is a huge milestone. Gifts are often given at the parties to help congratulate the graduate on the accomplishments. Many people choose to give cards, often with money or gift cards inside, in lieu of a physical gift. Having a graduation card box allows the guest to have a place to deposit the cards when they arrive at the party. Making your own graduation card box takes little time and can be made with items you probably already have around the house.

1
Cover the lid of a shoe box with decorative paper, such as wrapping paper. Use a box that is a minimum of 12 by 12 inches. Wrap the decorative paper around the top of the box, like you are wrapping a present, and tape the paper underneath the lid.
-
2
Cover the rest of the shoe box with decorative paper. Wrap it the same way you did the shoe box lid, like a package, and tape the paper on the inside of the box.

3
Make a hole in the top of the shoe box lid. The hole should be approximately 1 inch in width and 11 inches in length. Use a utility knife or craft knife to cut it. Discard the cut out piece.

Put the shoe box lid back on the shoe box. Place your completed graduation card box on a table where guests can easily access it to deposit their cards.

Tips & Warnings
If desired you can further decorate the box by gluing small graduation caps or diplomas onto the box. Or you could add a picture of the graduate onto the box. If you use solid-colored decorative paper you can write messages on the box or have your guests sign it.
