How to Refill the Ink in a Canon PG-30 Cartridge
The Canon PG-30 is a black ink cartridge used in many models of Canon inkjet printers. When the ink level becomes low on the PG-30, the cartridge can be refilled with ink instead of purchasing a new cartridge. Refilling the cartridge is cheaper than replacing the cartridge. It is important to follow the correct procedure when refilling the cartridge to avoid causing damage to the printer or the cartridge.
Instructions

1
Place the cartridge on a flat surface on some paper towels to absorb any ink that spills.
-
2
Drill a hole into the dimple below the "B" on the top label of the cartridge.
-
-
3
Fill a syringe with 20 ml of black inkjet ink. Insert the syringe needle into the drilled hole.
-
4
Slowly inject the ink into the cartridge.
-
5
Place the cartridge in the Canon printer. Allow the ink cartridge to rest for eight hours to let the ink saturate the sponge inside the cartridge. Run one to three printhead cleaning cycles to get the refilled ink to flow through the printhead.
