How to Clean the Format of Windows XP
Windows XP has a built-in program called Disk Management that lets you format and partition your hard drives so that you can clean off all of the data on the drives. Once you format a drive, it takes specialized software and a great deal of time to recover the data, so use extreme caution when performing a cleaning format of your drive with the tools in Windows XP.
