How to Wrap a Big Gift

How to Wrap a Big Gift thumbnail
Big gifts prove to be awkward to wrap.

The initial thrill of finding the perfect gift often overrides the dilemma of how you will wrap it, until it comes time to do something about it. For gifts that are large, traditional gift wrapping paper often doesn't suffice. Even if you can effectively cover the gift, the multiple seams of the gift wrap can be distracting. Instead of struggling with paper and tape, you can wrap a big gift in much less time with other supplies.

Things You'll Need

  • Large plastic gift bag
  • Twist-tie, ribbon or rubber band
  • Tape
  • Gift tag (optional)

Instructions

    • 1

Place the big gift inside of a large plastic gift bag.

    • 2

Pull the gift bag up around the sides of the item and gather it at the top.

    • 3

Tie the top of the bag with ribbon, a twist-tie or a rubber band. Tape a gift tag on the surface of the bag, if desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cut a hole large enough for hanger heads in the center of the bottom seam of the bag to re-use the gift bag as a garment bag.

  • Discard large gift bags in houses that have small children. These pose a suffocation risk if the child plays with it and becomes entangled in the bag.
