How to Build a Trick Bike
If you are looking to get into performing tricks on your bike, it is important to have the right bike for your needs. There are many bikes that will work, but for the most authentic trick experience you will want to have a fixed gear bike with a steel frame. A fixed gear can provide the basis you need for bunny hopping, pulling wheelies and knocking out an endo.
Things You'll Need
- Steel bike frame
- Front fork
- Handle bars and stem
- Chain
- Crank and pedals
- Cog
- Seat post
- Seat
- Rims
- Tires
- Set of Allen wrenches
- Wrench set
Instructions

1
Insert the front fork into the front of your steel frame. With the excess that is above the frame, connect the stem and handle bars, using your Allen wrench.
-
2
Insert the seat post on the frame and tighten with your Allen wrench. Do the same with the seat to the seat post, making sure that the seat lines up with the frame and isn't off center.

3
Slide the crank set through the hole at the bottom of the frame, and tighten with your Allen wrench. Make sure that the crank is on the right side of the bike as you stand over it. This is the typically the crank side, and you will find that the cog on the rear wheel is on the right as well.

Assemble and inflate your tires on the rims properly. Now you have your wheels. Attach the front wheel by loosing up the bolts on either side with a standard wrench. Once loose enough, slide the wheel into place on the front fork and tighten the bolts back to ensure the wheel won't shift at all.

5
Screw the cog on the back wheel, making sure to include the lock ring. The lock ring keeps the cog in place and makes sure it doesn't unscrew while you are pedaling. Then install the back wheel by loosing up the bolts, threading the chain from the crank to the cog, placing the wheel on the back of the frame and tightening the bolts.

Re-check all the bolts and Allen screws to make sure they are tight. Adjust the height of the seat for maximum comfort, install the pedals of your choosing on the crank, and go enjoy your new trick bike.

Tips & Warnings
You might want to add straps to your pedals to keep your feet from sliding off when doing tricks.
It is always important to wear a helmet, and other pads, such as knee or elbow pads, can be worn for protection if you wish.
Make sure to tighten up all the bolts as well as you can. Loose bolts will fall off and cause parts of your bike to fall off as you are riding.
