How to Modify Bin Files
The .bin file extension is typically used with backup image files for CD/DVD. These files are like ISO image files. You may also see the .bin file extension with certain system and anti-virus files. These different bin files bust be edited in different ways. Notepad or simple text editors can be used to edit the bin file but the image files require a specific program.

Install and open the MagicISO program.

Convert the Bin file to an ISO image file. Click "Tools" from the top menu. Click "Bin to ISO." Choose the Bin file you want to convert. Choose the file name you want. Click "Convert."

Edit this ISO image. Choose "File" -- Open and browse to your ISO file.

Edit the ISO file through the current ISO editor window using the following options: Drag and drop folders into the ISO File Panel or Folder Panel from Windows Explorer; Create a new folder by clicking the folder icon with a red star; Click the paper icon with a red check mark to edit the file's properties; Choose the AB icon to change the name of a file or folder; Delete a file or folder by clicking the red X to; Click the Save button to save your changes.

Right click the bin file you want to edit and choose "Open With."

Choose to "Select a Program from List" and then click "Next."

Choose "Notepad" from the list.

Edit the text file as you wish and save any changes.

Make a copy of the original bin file before altering it to prevent any data loss.
