How to Make Yahoo Skins
Yahoo! Skins give a fresh and individualized look to windows and other boxes that appear through the Yahoo! Messenger application on your computer. Yahoo! Messenger allows users to make Yahoo skins by choosing specific colors and effects. Choosing Skins From Yahoo! Messenger

Turn on your Yahoo! Messenger and go to the "Messenger > Preferences > Appearance" tab. Manage all the visual elements of Messenger from this spot, including fonts and the color of message windows.

Click on the "Change Skin" button and choose the skin you prefer. Messenger will appear in the skin you selected. If you don't like it, choose another skin.

Press "Apply" when you are happy with your choice.

Find Yahoo! Messenger skins on one of the many specialty websites that offer skins. Customize and Skinbase are two of the websites that offer free skins.

Look through different sites and find a skin you like. Download it directly to your computer desktop. The file should end with the letters .exe or .msi.

Click in the file you have just downloaded while Yahoo! Messenger is still closed. Instructions will pop up to give details on how to install the new skin.

Open your Yahoo! Messenger and go to the "Messenger > Preferences > Appearance" tab.

Click on the "Change skin" tab and you will find your new skin. Select the skin and press "Apply." Your new skin will appear.

Some skins are only made for certain versions of Yahoo! Messenger. Make sure the skin you download is compatible with your version of Yahoo! Messenger.
