Determine the Gender of a Baby With Home Tests

Expectant parents are often eager to determine the gender of their unborn baby. Many tests are available for at-home use that will help parents to figure out if they are having a boy or a girl. The Intelligender uses urine samples from the mother to determine the baby's sex. Tell me Pink or Blue uses a DNA sample that is mailed to and tested in a lab to determine the baby's gender.

Instructions

  1. Intelligender

    • 1

Purchase the Intelligender gender prediction kit from major drug store retailers, or order it online at the Intelligender website.

    • 2

Open the box, and remove the test cup.

    • 3

Urinate into the kit's test cup first thing in the morning.

    • 4

Swirl the cup in a circular motion, and then place on a flat surface for a few minutes.

    • 5

Read the color on the side of the test cup to determine the results. Orange indicates it is most likely a baby girl, and green means it is likely a boy, according to the company.

    Tell Me Pink or Blue

    • 6

Order Pink or Blue early gender test at their website, tellmepinkorblue.com. The order should arrive within a month. This test can be used as early as seven weeks into the pregnancy.

    • 7

Prick a small spot on your fingertip, and collect the blood using the lancets and DNA preservation card.

    • 8

Send the DNA test to the lab using the pre-addressed envelope included in the kit. The lab will test your DNA to determine your baby's gender.

    • 9

Read your results online or in an email within three to five days after the lab receives your DNA. Results are 95 percent accurate when the steps are followed properly, the company says.
