How to Replace the Turn Signal Switch in a 1998 Monte Carlo

The turn signal switch in a 1998 Monte Carlo translates your commands from the turn signal stalk to the turn signal bulbs. The stalk mounts to the switch body inside the steering column. The switch wiring harness provides electrical power to the switch, and allows the switch to pass that current to the turn signal circuit. As you can imagine, without a fully functioning switch, the entire turn signal system is useless. Anyone with a little auto-repair experience and less than 30 minutes of free time can replace the turn signal switch on a 1998 Monte Carlo.
