Insignia Bluetooth headphones were sold at Best Buy.

Insignia is a brand that is owned by Best Buy. The electronic products are only sold at Best Buy stores. It makes personal music players, speakers and other media-related electronics. According to its website, it has only made two headphones, which has been discontinued but can still be found at some stores and used shops. Both headphones are Bluetooth wireless headphones. One has a USB adapter and the other does not. Beside that small difference, they are virtually the same and setup is the same.

Instructions

  1. Setup and Pairing With a Computer

      Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your computer to pair them together.

      Open "My Bluetooth Places," which is located in the system tray.

      Select "Add a new Bluetooth device." When the "Bluetooth Device Wizard" opens, select "Next." On the headphones, press and hold the "Multifunction" button for at least 7 seconds so the headphones can find your computer's Bluetooth. When the two find each other, double-click the "NS-BTHDP" icon on your computer, then select "Next."

      Enter "0000" in the "Bluetooth security code" box and then choose "Pair now."

      Select either "Hands-free unit" (to use as microphone and speakers when making a call) or "Stereo Audio" (to use as speakers). Select "Next." Select "Finish."

      Press the "Start" button on the home screen of your desktop and then go to the "Control Panel."

      Select "Sounds and Devices." Select the "Audio" tab. In the "Sound Recording List," choose "Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio." In the "Sound Playback" list, choose "Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio."

    Pairing With a Cellular Phone

      Ensure that the headphones are off.

      Press and continuously hold the "Multifunction" button on the headphones for at least 7 seconds.

      Check with the user manual of your cell phone to set the cell phone in pairing mode. "NS-BTHDP" will show up on your cell phone's screen when it has found your headphones.

      Accept and confirm the pairing by entering "0000." The pairing is complete when short beeps play and a blue light flashes.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have the headphones that come with the USB, you do not have to use Bluetooth to use it with your computer. To use it with the USB, just plug the USB cable into the computer. It will work the same, except you will not have the flexibility of a wireless headphone.

  • The Insignia headphones can also be paired with other Bluetooth devices.

  • Charge your headphones by plugging the cord into a power outlet. It takes 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery. The headphone are fully charged when the red indicator lights turn off. The battery should completely charge each time you charge it.
