Set up a network share on a Mac.

Mac computers come standard with tools that allow you to create a network share. Using these tools to allow access to files on your Mac from a PC is a matter of clicking a few buttons and not dealing with complicated directory settings. Once you create a network from your Mac, you can then also share files on your PC.

Instructions

Click the small apple icon in the top, left corner of your desktop on your Mac. Click "Preferences" and then click the "Sharing" folder in the "Internet & Network" section.

    • 5

Right-click on a folder that you want to share on your personal computer. Click the "Sharing" tab and then click the radio button next to "Share this folder." Click the "Apply" button and then the "OK" button.
