You can use an OP-40 to tune your Ovation guitar.

Ovation is a company that produces a variety of musical instruments and devices. One such device is a pre-amp known as the Ovation OP-40. This pre-amp is built into some models of Ovation guitars. The pre-amp not only offers control of musical tone through equalizers, but it also has an electronic tuner. Using an Ovation OP-40 tuner is a quick and efficient method of tuning your guitar.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the tuner by pressing the "Tuner On/Cal" button."

    • 2

Pluck the high E string (the string closest to the ground when you're playing the instrument) of your guitar while watching the indicator lights. The pitch that this string is closest to will light up.

    • 3

Tighten the tuning key that corresponds with the high E string if the pitch is lower than E. Loosen the tuning key if the pitch is higher than E.

    • 4

Watch the second row of lights once you get the string to the E pitch. These lights will indicate whether the string is perfectly in tune (an arrow symbol in the middle), flat ("b" symbol, meaning a little too low) or sharp ("#" symbol, meaning a little too high).

    • 5

Turn the tuning key very slightly to make minor adjustments until the string is perfectly in tune.

    • 6

Repeat this tuning process for the other strings. Their pitches from high to low are B, G, D, A and low E.
