Brush your hair. The simplest way to fix hat hair is by brushing your hair as soon as you remove the hat. This usually restores the hair's life and shape, and gets rids of unwanted dents and flatness. Use a flat paddle brush for best results.

2
Use your fingers to restore your hair's shape. After you take of the hat, flip your hair upside down and run your fingers through it. If you are unable to flip your hair over, simply run your fingers through your hair.

Spray anti-static hairspray on a hairbrush and comb through hair. Wearing a hat, especially a wool one, can leave your hair fly-away and full of static. A light hairspray will achieve the same result.

Apply gel to your hair. If your hair is curly or feathered, use some hair gel to fix your hat hair. Put a small amount of gel, about the size of a coin, into your hand. Rub your hands together and run your fingers through your hair until you have worked all the gel into your hair, taking care to re-shape your hair as you do.

Hair that is in good condition will more easily bounce back into shape after you take your hat off. Keep your hair clean, well conditioned, and nourished. Shampoo regularly. After each shampoo, apply a conditioner that suits your hair type.
