How to Troubleshoot a Schwinn 226 Recumbent Bike
The Schwinn 226 recumbent exercise bike features an electronic console and is meant for use in fitness centers and home gym settings. The digital computer tracks speed, distance and calories burned, and the recumbent positioning of the seat allows for low-impact cardio exercise. Check the machine on a regular basis for any signs of wear or loose parts that might present a safety hazard, and contact an authorized service technician if concerns arise. Issues may arise while using the Schwinn 226 that can be solved through some basic troubleshooting methods.

1
Press and hold the "RESET" button for two seconds if an error occurs on the digital console or the computer is not working properly. This will reset the console.

Input a workout or adjust the speed or incline if the console turns off automatically. The console is set to turn off after two minutes if the machine is turned on but there is no input into the console.

3
Grip both heart rate sensors firmly if there is no "Heart Rate" readout. Watch for the flashing heart icon to indicate that your pulse is being received.

6
Check to make sure the power cord is firmly connected to the power source and the bicycle if the machine does not turn on.
