How to Configure an Ethernet Switch Port in Cisco 1841
The Cisco 1841 is an Integrated Services Router used to direct data traffic from one point on the network to another. You can connect other devices by adding on expansion cards. You can also connect up to two computers to the router using one of its two Fast Ethernet switch ports. There are three basic configurations that need to be applied to a port: activation, name, and VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network). Your network may or may not have VLANs set up, but if they do, you definitely need to configure the port for the right VLAN. VLANs separate a network into virtual segments.
