What good is a wheelbarrow with a flat tire?

Tubeless wheelbarrow tires often go flat over time. Inflating a tubeless wheelbarrow can be frustrating if done improperly, with many failed attempts at creating an air-holding seal. Fortunately, with the help of an adjustable tow strap and an air compressor, you can refill the tire and regain the use of a wheelbarrow that was otherwise wasting away. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Turn your wheelbarrow upside down so that the wheel is up in the air.

    • 2

Wrap the adjustable tow strap around the tire. Connect both sides to create a full circle around the wheel. Cinch the tow strap down tightly around the wheel to force the sides of the tire against the rim, so that a "seal" is formed.

    • 3

Use an air compressor to fill the tire with air slowly. Stop frequently to check for leaks around the tire and rim line. If you find that the air is leaking through the tire, tighten the strap to stop the leak and create a strong seal between the tire and the wheel rim.

    • 4

Fill the tire with air until the strap is restricting air flow into the tire. Slightly loosen the tow strap and continue to put air into the tire. Repeat until the tire is full of air and the tire is able to hold the air even after the tow strap has been removed.

    • 5

Fill the tire to the recommended PSI using the air compressor. Turn your wheelbarrow over and it is ready to be used.
