How to Make Fonts Bigger on Photoshop CS4
If a picture is worth a thousand words, pictures with words may find their value increases even more. Adding words to a picture may be useful when you want to place a copyright watermark on your work to protect it, caption an image or add a logo. Combine graphics and words by using a graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop CS4, where you're able to take advantage of Photoshop's fonts, which are different styles of lettering. In a couple of clicks, increase the size of the fonts in your images and get your message across.

1
Open Photoshop CS4, click the "File" tab and click "Open." Browse to the file with the fonts to make bigger. Look for a file extension with .PSD, which means it is a Photoshop file, the only kind with editable fonts. Graphics files, such as .JPG or .GIF, don't have editable text layers, so you won't be able to change font size in these images. Double-click the .PSD file to edit and the image opens on the screen.

2
Click the "Window" menu and select "Layers" to open the "Layers" palette; it may already be open on the right side of the screen. Notice you have multiple layers; the bottom layer may be titled "Background" if you didn't change it and has a mini replica of your photo. There are also text layers, symbolized by the words in the layer and a white square with a "T" on the left side of each layer.

3
Double-click one of the "T" icons on a text layer. The words in the text on the image become highlighted, and the text toolbar appears at the top of the screen.
-
4
Pull down the font-size menu and select a new text size. While the maximum size shown on the menu is 72, you're able to increase text size larger by just typing in a number in the box to the left of the drop-down menu, such as "100." The largest size you may increase to is 1,296, but this is unlikely unless your image is extremely large.
-
5
Double-click the "T" on another text layer and repeat the process to make that text bigger. Repeat until you've increased all of the text as desired.
-
6
Click the "File" tab, click "Save As" and save the file or rename it and save it to preserve the original fonts so you can access them in the future.
