How to Make Homemade Silicone Bracelets

Personalize your homemade silicone bracelets.

Bright and colorful silicone bracelets can be made at home using silicone crafting sheets, which are sold as silicone rubber composite sheets. Another alternative is to re-purpose your brightly colored silicone baking sheets and transform them into silicone bracelets. Implementing a letter-type stencil also allows you to customize the bracelets for gifts, and charms with jump rings, crimp beads and closure findings can be added to the silicone bracelet as well.

Things You'll Need

• Flexible measuring tape
• Clear graph ruler
• Silicone sheets
• Scissors
• Letter-type stencil
• Permanent marker
• Clear silicone glue

Instructions

1. Measure around your wrist with a flexible measuring tape and add a ½ inch to the measurement. This measurement will be your bracelet's length. You will also need to determine what width measurement you want the bracelet to be.

2. Place a silicone sheet on a flat surface. Position a clear graph ruler on top of your silicone sheet using your measurements as your guide.

3. Cut along your measurements with sharp scissors to avoid jagged edges.

4. Lay your silicone bracelet flat on your work surface. Position a letter-type stencil over the surface and write a saying or word to personalize your bracelet with a permanent marker. As an alternative, write your name freehand, or draw a simple motif across the bracelet to customize it. Do not add artwork onto the added ½ inch end which will be part of your closure.

5. Dab clear silicone glue onto the added ½ inch end of your stenciled bracelet. Apply the adhesive to one end of the bracelet only.

6. Hold the adhesive end in your hand. Bend the remaining end and overlap it onto the adhesive end, forming a circular shape. Do not overlap the ends more than the ½ inch you added to your wrist measurement; otherwise, the bracelet will not slide over your hand and onto your wrist with ease.

7. Press the ends of the bracelet together for a minimum of one to two minutes so that the ends begin to bond together. Set the bracelet on your work surface and let the adhesive dry according to its manufacturer's recommended drying time.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not apply a large amount of silicone adhesive to the ends to avoid seepage when overlapping.
