Shred a zucchini to add in dips, main dishes, batters and other recipes. Shredding a zucchini turns the inner part of the gourd into thin, mushy strands. Peeling is necessary only with large zucchini, according to the Start Cooking website. The site also states that zucchini has little cholesterol and saturated fat. You can eat the vegetable either raw or cooked, but most recipes call for it to be cooked. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

      Wash the zucchini, place the zucchini on the cutting board and cut off the ends.

      Set the bowl on a flat surface. Place the grater on top of the bowl. Hold the grater firmly with one hand; with the other, place one end of the zucchini on the grater. Move it back and forth with rapid motions until the zucchini is shredded.

      Lift up the grater and carefully wipe off any pieces stuck to the bottom of the grater into the bowl.
