Instructions

    • 1

Wash and condition your hair as you normally would. Blow dry or let dry naturally.

    • 2

Apply a moisturizing gel to dry hair to prevent flyaways and protect the hair.

    • 3

Using your comb, separate your hair into several workable sections. This can be two sides, front and back or various other combinations as you see fit. The smaller the sections, the smaller your twists will be. Clip the hair sections that you will not be twisting to your head.

    • 4

Comb the loose section of hair forward. Gather two small strands from the loose section at the base of your neck. Keeping your hands as close to the scalp as possible, begin twisting the strands forward towards the crown of your head. As you twist pick up other strands of hair, until all the loose hair in the section is gathered into the twist. Twist all the way to the end of the hair strand.

    • 5

Repeat until all the hair sections have been flat twisted.

Tips & Warnings

  • Variations on the flat twist can be done in different patterns and leaving some hair loose, then twisting it into a ponytail or bun. Hair can generally stay in a flat twist for up to a week.
