How to Setup a Wireless D-Link Router
Wireless routers are used to create a wireless Internet network in a home or business. Unlike a direct connection, more than one computer can connect to the wireless network and access the Internet. Setting up the router is the most important part of setting up a wireless network because without the router, there is no connection for the network. D-Link wireless routers are a brand of routers available for a home or office network.

1
Unplug the cable or DSL modem. This is the Internet modem in the house or business that allows a direct Internet connection.
-
2
Plug the connecting cable into the modem. The D-Link router should come with an Ethernet cable to connect the modem and the router.
-
-
3
Plug the Ethernet cable into the router. Plug in the modem and router for power.
-
4
Configure the Internet router to activate it. D-Link routers have two available options, the wizard or the manual connection. Both use the "http://192.168.0.1" address. Type in the word "Admin" in the username box. There is no password for set-up, so click "OK" or "Enter."
-
5
Set up the wireless network. Connect the computer or computers to the network according to the computer. For example, a laptop has a built-in wireless adaptor, so it will connect without difficulty and the router will give it an IP address. Depending on the computer, a desktop might not have wireless adaptors built-in. If it does not, connect the wireless adaptor to a USB port. Reboot the D-Link router when prompted.
