How to Wet Sand a Car
Wet sanding is a little-known technique for covering scratches and other markings from your car's paint job. An alternative to simply buffing and polishing a scratched or marred surface, wet sanding brings the damaged area down to the same level so that markings are practically invisible, even in bright light.
Instructions

1
Spray water on the damaged area of your car.
-
2
Wrap the sandpaper around a sanding block and wet it thoroughly with your water bottle.

-
3
Applying light pressure, gently sand the scratched area in an X-pattern, constantly checking to make sure you aren't sanding too deep. Add water constantly to keep the sanding area wet.
-
4
Finish sanding when you have an even, dull surface. You can then buff and paint the area.
