How to Send Media Messages on an iPhone

MMS technology allows you to send and receive multimedia messages on your iPhone. The iPhone 3GS and later models can take and send media like photos and video. (ref 1 pg. 104) Earlier models of the iPhone can only take and send photos. You can send a multimedia message from your iPhone the same way you send a regular text message.

      Tap the "Messages" icon on your home screen.

      Tap the "New Message" icon at the top right of page to compose a new message.

      Tap the "To:" field and choose a contact.

      Tap the small camera icon next to the field where you enter text for the message.

      Select the "Take Photo or Video" option to take a picture or video with your iPhone's camera. If using an older iPhone model, select "Take Photo." Select "Choose Existing" to pick a photo or video from an existing album. The picture/video you take or choose will load to the message's text field.

      Tap the "Send" button to send the media message.
