The Nunchuk attachment for the Nintendo Wii adds a second controller with analog-stick functionality to the console. When attached to the Wii Remote, the setup resembles a nunchuk, giving the device its name. To use the wireless controller set with your console, you must first sync it.

Connect the Nunchuck controller cable to the External Extension Connector slot on the bottom of the Wii Remote.

Turn on your Wii console and open the memory card bay on the front of the console.

Remove the battery bay cover on the back of your Wii Remote.

Press the red “Sync” button inside the memory card bay on the console and the red “Sync” button in the battery bay on the Wii Remote. The LED lights on the Wii Remote will begin to blink, then one of the player lights from one to four will light up, which indicates that the Wii Remote is synced. Once synced, the Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment will be functional.
