How to Enlarge Quicktime

The small square icon in the top-right corner of the QuickTime Player will enlarge the video currently open in the interface. Depending upon the video, the enlarged video may appear pixelated or cropped. This happens because this feature, although convenient, only widens the video without taking into consideration other factors concerning aspect ratio or even user preference. In QuickTime's menu, there are options that allow you to have more control over just how large the video will be or the aspect ratio of the video.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click on the video file in the save location.

    • 2

Select "Open with" and select "QuickTime Player" as the media player. The file will open in the QuickTime Player.

    • 3

Select the "View" at the top of the QuickTime interface.

    • 4

Choose "Double Size," "Fit to Screen" or "Full Screen." Double Size will double the size of the current screen. Fit to Screen will fill the screen with the video as fully as possible without cropping the video or changing the aspect ratio. Full Screen will fill the screen with the video and cover the desktop and remove the frames of the QuickTime Player. As an alternative, use "Ctrl-F" to enter full screen mode.
