How to Make Your Customer Service Goals
Companies need good customer service to generate repeat customers. Setting standards and goals for staffers who interact directly with the public helps build high-level customer service. Though goals may differ depending on the industry, core values such as high customer satisfaction, rapid response time, accurate documentation, following company rules and industry regulations, are critical for all businesses. Knowing and understanding your company's goals will lead you to make your personal customer service goals for the year.

1
Read through the written customer service goals for your position. Ask the supervisor about any specific customer service goals and expectations the company might have for you. To make your customer service goals, you must first understand them.
-
2
Treat all customers with respect by assuming a friendly tone and by helping them timely and appropriately with their requests. Fulfill all customer needs and your goal of customer satisfaction will be met.
-
-
3
Answer customer telephone calls quickly and listen carefully to the customer's needs. If telephone measurement statistics, such as the average speed of answer, are part of your customer service goals, strive to answer calls as quickly as possible.
-
4
Document your interaction with customers accurately. Enter sales or notes into the appropriate system. Follow company guidelines for how to register sales and other customer requests. If your goal is to maintain quality customer data integrity, you will achieve this when your supervisor audits your entries.
-
5
Complete all required training and follow mandated regulations in your area of customer service. Goals of your job may be to further your training and comply with regulations and agencies such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). If you don't attend training, or break rules and regulations you may not reach the goals of your customer service position.
