Symantec is a company that sells Norton antivirus software for computers. There are several versions of Norton, but the basic structure protects a PC or Mac against viruses and hackers. Anyone can pay and download the program from the main website or purchase the CD-ROM in stores. When you purchase Norton, you will get a unique "Product Key" code that you must enter to activate the software. Users are allowed to download the same program onto three different computers using the same Product Key.

Instructions

  1. Norton CD-ROM Version

      Place the Norton CD into your computer's disc drive. An installation menu will load.

      Click on "Install Norton."

      Click on "I Agree" after you read the license agreement.

      Enter in the Product Key that is listed on the Norton box and follow the rest of the instructions on the screen.

    Norton Download Version

      Go to the Norton website that lets you re-download the program (see Resources).

      Click on "Download" on the same program you purchased. Save the file your desktop.

      Double-click on the file after it downloads.

      Click on "I Agree" after you read the license agreement.

      Enter in the Product Key that you used for the last installation and follow the rest of the instructions on the screen.
