Keep your Zen 5 charged to ensure it starts when you want to play it.

Fortunately, only a small number of causes will keep a creative Zen V Plus from booting. The common remedy for a Zen V that will not boot is to ensure it is charged or that it is properly charging. However, other severe technical issues may need further observation if a Zen V does not boot. At some point, MP3 players may experience the same technical issue and the troubleshooting steps to repair the problem are similar regardless of the specific model.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the Zen V to the available USB port of your computer.

    • 2

Press and hold the reset button which may be recessed so it requires a pointed object to press. Look on the display for the charging icon which resembles a green battery with a lightning bolt through the middle. Press any key on the player if the display goes blank. If the battery is too depleted no display will occur but you may see a blue back light that lets you know the battery is charging.

    • 3

Keep the Zen V connected to your computer for at least six hours. If you are using a battery operated laptop or netbook, make sure it does not hibernate or go to sleep as this will inhibit the charging process.
