How to Enable the Dr. Watson Debugger
Windows-based systems contain the Dr. Watson Debugger tool, which detects and reports to the Microsoft technical support group system errors that affect programs. It monitors faults such as improper shutdowns and blue screen errors. If this feature is not currently active on your system, you may enable it with a few quick steps. This tool allows Microsoft to keep track of what applications need improvement.

Create the Registry File

Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Esc" simultaneously to open Windows Task Manager.

Click "File," then "New Task" to open the "Create New Task" prompt.

Type "regedit" in the dialog box and press "Enter" or "OK."

Navigate the following registry path on the left pane of the Registry Editor:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE," "Software," "Microsoft," "Windows NT," "CurrentVersion" and "AeDebug."

In "AeDebug. Select "File" from the menu bar. Click "Export."

Save the registry file as "Watson" to the desktop.

Right-click the "AeDebug" entry and click "Delete." Exit the Registry Editor.
Run Command Prompt

Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Esc" simultaneously to open Windows Task Manager.

Type "cmd" in the dialog box and press "Enter."

Type "drwtsn32 -i" into the command prompt and press "Enter."

Exit the command prompt. Double-click the file "Watson" on the desktop. This enables Dr. Watson Debugger.
