How to Clean a Microtek Scanner
A Microtek scanner scans documents and images and transfers those files to a computer. Once the document or picture is transferred to the computer, it can be photoshopped, altered, printed, or saved to CDs, DVDs or flash drives. Microtek scanners can accumulate dust, fingerprints and smudges all from routine use. All of these things can impact the quality of the scan, so the scanner, especially the scanning glass, should be cleaned as needed.
Instructions

1
Lift the Microtek scanner cover upward.
-
2
Spray a small amount of glass cleaner on the scanning glass. Wipe the cleaner away with a soft lint-free cloth. Do not use paper products, such as paper towels as they can scratch the glass.
-
-
3
Wipe the underside of the scanner cover---or the side that lies on the scanning glass---with a dampened cloth. This will remove any dust from transferring onto the glass.
-
4
Allow the cover and glass to air dry. Once dry, close the cover.
-
5
Combine two cups of warm water with a squirt of a mild liquid soap, such as liquid dish soap or hand soap.
-
6
Dip a soft cloth in the soapy water. Wring the cloth to remove excess moisture.
-
7
Wipe the outside of the scanner down with the dampened cloth. This removes dust and residue.
