Instructions

    • 1

Place small drops of adhesive in the groove of the plank. Space each drop of adhesive 4 inches apart.

    • 2

Line the groove up with the lip on the planks of the starting row. Each row of planks should be staggered between 6 and 8 inches so the joints do not line up. If the joints line up, the planks are more likely to pull away from the floor.

    • 3

Press the plank against starting planks so the lip fits snugly into the groove.

    • 4

Place a small block of wood against the plank, on the opposite side of the starting planks. Hit the block of wood with a rubber mallet to ensure the tightest possible fitting. The block of wood needs to be no larger than a 4-inch section of a 2-by-4.

    • 5

Wipe any adhesive off of the wood planks with a damp washcloth and adhesive remover if necessary. It can be difficult to remove adhesive once it gets the chance to dry. Follow the directions on your chosen adhesive remover for best results.

    • 6

Repeat the process for all additional planks. Be sure to stagger each row of planks.

Tips & Warnings

  • Adhesive should also be put on the floor beneath the plank.

  • The room temperature should be between 50 and 85 degrees F when installing the wood planks.
