Instructions

    • 1

Inspect your Mirro 98505 pressure cooker to insure that all parts are there. The cooker comes with a top, base pot, meat rack, weighted regulator and rubber gasket.

    • 2

Hold the top of the pressure cooker up to the light. Insure that you can see through the center vent hole. If this hole is clogged, clean the hole of debris with a pipe cleaner or other wire.

    • 3

Insert the rubber gasket under the rim of the lid of the pressure cooker.

    • 4

Place the food to be cooked in the base of the pressure cooker. If cooking meat, place the meat rack in the bottom of the pan before adding the meat.

    • 5

Add water to the cooker. For vegetables and other quick cooking foods, you need only 1 cup of water. For longer-cooking foods, such as meats and beans, add water to the fill line marked inside the cooker.

    • 6

Line up the arrow on the top of the lid with the arrow marked on the base, and twist the handles of the two parts of the cooker until they lock together in place.

    • 7

Place the regulator over the center vent hole.

    • 8

Place the pressure cooker on the burner of your stovetop. Heat over medium high heat until the regulator begins to jiggle.

    • 9

Turn the heat down to medium low and cook the food for the required time.

    • 10

Remove the pressure cooker from the heat and allow it to cool down naturally. You will not be able to open the handles until the pressure has escaped from the cooker.
