Send invitations to your guests, by mail, two to three weeks in advance of the party. This will give your guests enough time to arrange their schedule to attend. To entice them to attend, select a non-candle theme for the party, like wine tasting, tropical paradise or death by chocolate. Do mention it will be a candle party, so there is no misrepresentation. Use bright-colored envelopes for your invitations, and be sure to include R.S.V.P. information.

Decorate the area of your home where the party will be held to reflect the theme. Include a table or two elegantly arranged with a display of the candle products you are selling.

Prepare games and presentations about the candles you are marketing. Not all the games have to be about or involve candles. They can be related to theme or even simple party games like "What is in your purse?" or "Two truths and a lie," in which a guest tell two truths and a lie and the other guests must determine which is the lie. As well, have one or two candle-themed games, such as "Guess the scent," in which your guests sniff a line of scented candles and try to name the scent, or a demonstration on the proper method to burn a candle. Use small candle items from your inventory as prizes.

Serve refreshments while you take orders for candles from your guests and sell the inventory on hand. Also, ask your guests if they would like you to host a candle party at their home for people they know. Your candle party is the perfect opportunity to book additional candle parties.
