How to Reboot Without a CD or Disk
Restarting a computer with a bootable CD in your CD drive or an external storage drive connected to your computer will cause your computer to boot off of that device instead of your operating system. Rebooting a computer without either of these two things will simply cause your computer to shut down and then turn itself back on again. This will clear the random access memory of your computer, allowing it to operate "fresh" and with maximum efficiency once the reboot has finished.
